1. GEMBA WALK STAGE
After the Gemba Walk
2. BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Lessons learned practice provides a mechanism to capture, structure, store and share the learnings gained through the project. Lessons learned can be captured towards the end of the project or after the project, but they work best when captured at the moment of learning, during the project.
3. HOW TO USE THE LESSONS LEARNED IN THE GEMBA WALK
Lessons learned can be captured, structured and stored after the Gemba Walk. Lessons learned can also be shared with the Gemba Walk team, managers and other employees before and during the Gemba Walk. Key findings and learnings are recorded either by the leader or a team member immediately (or shortly) after the Gemba Walk to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of captured knowledge, as well as to be able to immediately share it with relevant parties, avoiding the recurrence of the same situation or problems.
4. ROLES AND ACTIVITIES
Leader: Supports the lessons learned activity, records, structures, stores and shares lessons learned with other leaders and employees
Facilitator: Develops and provides lessons learned templates, sets up the lessons learned capturing, structuring, storing and sharing system, coaches and trains employees in the use of templates, and monitors, updates and maintains the system
Team member: Records, structures, stores and shares lessons learned with other employees and leaders
5. EXPECTED BENEFITS FOR THE GEMBA WALK
