2. BRIEF DESCRIPTION
A Decision Map is a visual representation of (all) decisions made during the continuous improvement project or during the design and development of any new process in order to create value and/or deliver value to the customer. This map highlights the areas that need to be addressed and resolved for that decision to be made.
3. HOW TO USE THE DECISION MAP IN THE GEMBA WALK
Decision maps help the Gemba team to both track the current decisions made in a visual manner and identify past decisions that influenced the outcome, including the reasoning behind those decisions.
4. ROLES AND ACTIVITIES
Leader: Supports transparency enabled by decision maps, provides time and resources. Reviews the decision maps with the team to stimulate lessons learned about the different activities carried out and look for ways to be more efficient
Facilitator: Facilitates the creation of decision maps and the transparent use of the past decision maps
Team member: Creates decision maps, notes decisions when taken and reflects to identify opportunity areas to further improve the way projects are carried out
